Parramatta's Richie Fa'aoso can escape NRL suspension with an early guilty plea for his raised forearm that floored South Sydney's George Burgess.

Fa'aoso was slapped with a grade-one dangerous contact charge by the NRL match review committee on Monday.

The incident occurred just before halftime during the Eels' 14-12 loss to the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

Fa'aoso was running with the ball when he saw Burgess charging at him and stuck out his elbow in defence, catching Burgess on the chin.

Fa'aoso wasn't even penalised for the contact.

If he fights the charge and loses, Fa'aoso will cop a one-match ban which would see him sidelined for Parramatta's clash with Penrith this Friday.
