A man accused of pretending to be a nurse in numerous facilities across Australia is reported to have been taken back into custody.

Nicholas Crawford is facing more than 110 charges in Queensland for time he allegedly spent working in a centre at Aurukun earlier this year.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency has also filed charges against him in Western Australia, while Northern Territory police are investigating claims he worked five shifts as an agency nurse in June 2014.

While the 30-year-old had been granted bail and ordered to stay at his mother's house in Victoria, the NT News reports he was found walking between Alice Springs and Katherine in a dehydrated condition on Thursday.

It's understood Cairns detectives will fly to the area on Monday to seek his extradition back to Queensland.

A few days ago, three charges levelled against him by AHPRA were mentioned in the Cairns Magistrates Court and adjourned until December.

Meanwhile, Queensland police allege Crawford administered drugs to children and assaulted patients over 60 during six weeks in Aurukun, where it is believed he used someone else's details to get the $100,000-a-year job.
