Fancy a dinner date with Hugh Jackman?

Dinner with Hugh Jackman and Julie Bishop in the Big Apple is up for grabs at the parliamentary press gallery's mid-winter ball charity auction.

Fancy having dinner with the Wolverine himself Hugh Jackman and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in the Big Apple?

Perhaps breakfast at Kirribilli House with the prime minister or cheering on the Canberra Raiders with league legend Glenn Lazarus?

The experiences are all up for grabs at the parliamentary press gallery's mid-winter ball fundraiser.

The annual eBay charity auction, which has raised nearly $3 million since 2000, is now underway.

On offer is a chance to wine and dine with Labor's power women Tanya Plibersek and Penny Wong, or parliament's "odd couple" Christopher Pyne and Anthony Albanese.

Malcolm Turnbull has also agreed to host four people for dinner at his Canberra apartment, you could share a meal with Bill Shorten, or with four of the senate's key crossbenchers.

Also available is an AFL experience with new Greens' leader Richard Di Natale and two of his colleagues.

Qantas has again offered two business class tickets to London or New York, and will fly two people to the Big Apple for their dinner with Mr Jackman, his wife Deborra-Lee Furness and Ms Bishop.

The Luke Batty Foundation and Rare Cancers Australia will be two major charity recipients of this year's ball, which will be held on June 17 at Parliament House, Press Gallery President David Speers confirmed on Sunday.

Bids for the auction can be made at http://stores.ebay.com.au/bidsforgood/midwinterball.
