Farming loan limits doubled to $2 million

Low-interest loans for farmers will now have a limit of $2 million, with the government doubling the amount available.

Drought-stricken farmers will be able to access up to $2 million in low-interest loans after the federal government doubled the limit.

Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said the total government funding available for low-interest loans in any year had also been doubled to $500 million.

"We can't make it rain but we can help our farmers survive the drought which is affecting so many farming families," Mr Littleproud said.
