Fatal cruise company fined $10,000

A firm that sold liquor without a license on a corporate cruise in Perth, during which a man apparently fell overboard and drowned, has been fined $10,000.

Non-bank lender The Pepper Group has been fined $10,000 for providing liquor without a license on a cruise that ended in the death of one of the guests.

Perth mortgage broker Damien Mills was among more than 30 guests on board the charter vessel for an event organised by The Pepper Group on October 31 last year.

The 35-year-old's body was found the next day floating about 5.5km off Leighton Beach.

The company was fined in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.
