National selector Rod Marsh has cast an air of mystery over plans for World Cup heroes James Faulkner and Glenn Maxwell.
The two allrounders were not included in the Australian squad named on Tuesday for Test tours to West Indies and England.
While Maxwell was selected in an Australia A four-day squad to tour India, Faulkner was not in that either, but Marsh said selectors "certainly hadn't forgotten him".
"He (Faulkner) is a pretty good cricketer," he said.
"James desperately needs some red ball cricket (and) it's not his fault he hasn't played any.
"We've got hopeful plans that I can't reveal right now for Jimmy Faulkner. He'll be right."
Of Maxwell, Marsh said: "It's a tragedy we can't play in him every game at the moment. But watch this space."
