The Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia has emphasised the need to strike a balance between federal government support for Paid Parental Leave and affordable childcare.

FECCA Women's Chair, Ms Pallavi Sinha, says it's important to assess the longer-term benefits and use this as a benchmark to determine what will be most benefitial to Australian families.

Senior Deputy Chair for FECCA, Tina Karanastasis spoke with Catherine Bassey about the gaps in the scheme and those who are most vulnerable.
