Fed government declares war on feral cats

An app to let people log the whereabouts of feral cats has been launched, as the federal government set targets for humane management of feral felines.

Greg Hunt wants two million feral cats killed by 2020, and there's an app so you can help find them.

The federal environment minister has set the humane culling target to help protect Australia's threatened native species.

The FeralCatScan app, that lets you help experts manage the problem by reporting feral cat hotspots, was launched at the Threatened Species Summit in Melbourne on Thursday along with targets to tackle feral cats, and protect and recover threatened wildlife.
