Federal police set up in Turkey, Jordan

Federal police officers are now based in 29 countries around the world, with new posts being set up in Turkey and Jordan.

An Australian Federal Police post has been opened in the Turkish capital Ankara.

An AFP senior liaison officer will also be posted to the Jordanian capital Amman, Justice Minister Michael Keenan said in a statement on Wednesday.

"These posts solidify the Australian government's commitment to working with international partners in relation to the counter-terrorism issues," Mr Keenan said.
