Federer to come back at Stuttgart tennis

Roger Federer will end his 10-week break from tennis, returning to action later this month at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart as builds up for Wimbledon.

Roger Federer will return to action at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart on June 14, ending his 10-week break from tennis.

The Swiss returned from a six-month injury layoff in January to win the Australian Open, but skipped the entire claycourt season, including the French Open, to focus on preparing for Wimbledon.

Federer will play in the Stuttgart and Halle grasscourt events before travelling to London to pursue a record eighth Wimbledon title, Stuttgart tournament director Edwin Weindorfer said.
