The West Coast Fever have fought back to salvage their third stalemate of the Super Netball season, after their former star shooter was denied a match-winning goal by officials.

Caitlin Bassett had an opportunity to secure victory for the Giants in Perth on Saturday night, but what would he have been her 43rd goal was ruled out because time had expired at RAC Arena.

Instead the scores were deadlocked at 62-all at the end of a frenetic seventh round clash.

The Fever, last year's last year's beaten finalists, clawed back a four-goal deficit with three minutes remaining though Australian international Bassett (42/46) could have bridged the Giants gap to the third-placed Vixens if she was fractionally quicker to get her shot away.

Giants coach Julie Fitzgerald reckoned Bassett's goal was legitimate, but was as concerned with a fade out down the stretch.

"I think you have to be disappointed when you lead for most of the match and end up with a draw. We had it in our hands but a couple of silly things at the end cost us," Fitzgerald said.

"By the big clock, we certainly had enough time to shoot that goal. It will be interesting to see but I was very surprised that they said we ran out of time on that. We just have to wear it now."

Fever sit sixth after adding another stalemate to their draws with the Melbourne Vixens and Queensland Firebirds.

"It's tough but really we could have lost that with the way that we came out in the first part of the game," said Fever coach Stacey Marinkovich.

"We just kept chipping away and then let it slip. There's critical moments that we have to be able to identify.

"That's on the collective taking that accountability in attack and defensively making sure we stay in the game."

Jamaican shooter Jhaniele Fowler was again remarkable in attack for Fever with 61 goals from 65 attempts, including a coolly-slotted quartet to level the scores.

Kaylia Stanton provided the hosts other goal, and 24 valuable assists.
