West Coast Fever goal attack Kaylia Stanton is confident her Super Netball partnership with Jhaniele Fowler will continue to grow as the pair spend more time together on court.
Fowler formed a formidable shooting partnership with Nat Medhurst last season, with their form helping the Fever to the grand final.
Eyebrows were raised when the Fever axed Medhurst at the end of last season in order to recruit former Magpie Alice Teague-Neeld.
Teague-Neeld failed to fire in the early rounds this year, but Stanton is thriving as the team's new goal attack.
The 25-year-old, who spent most of last season on the bench, feels her partnership with Fowler is getting better by the week.
"I really love playing with Jhaniele," Stanton said.
"To have someone of that height and strength in that goal shooting position is a really easy target for us to place that ball to her.
"The work we do out the front contributes to that as well."
Fowler's hot form has continued this season, with the Jamaican nailing a league-high 307 goals at an average of 51 a match.
Stanton has proven to be an excellent foil, averaging 12 goals and 23 assists over the past four matches.
The 189cm Stanton grew up playing as a goal shooter but has adapted as a goal attack in order to gain court time.
Stanton said it enabled her to add more strings to her bow as she attempts to break into the Diamonds squad.
"If I want to be in that Aussie team and pushing for selection I need to be able to play two positions," Stanton said.
"At the moment I'm absolutely loving goal attack. It allows me to play a bit more of an athletic, dynamic role that you don't get to as goal shooter because of the restrictions."
The Fever have posted two draws and a win over the past three weeks to revive their finals hopes but face a must-win match against the fourth-placed Giants in Perth on Saturday.
