Fifita charged for Super League tackle

Former Cronulla forward David Fifita has been fined $500 for a dangerous tackle in the final match of Wakefield's Super League season.

Wakefield prop David Fifita has been handed a two-match ban for a dangerous tackle in his side's last match of the Super League season at St Helens.

The former Cronulla forward denied the grade B offence but was found guilty by a Rugby Football League independent disciplinary tribunal and fined PS300 ($A500).

Fifita, who is out of contract with Trinity, will be able to serve the suspension in pre-season matches.
