NON-STOP

Action/thriller; rated M; opening February 27

Liam Neeson stars as an US air marshal, who starts receiving cryptic text messages on a flight from London to New York. They reveal that a passenger will be killed every 20 minutes unless he can get his government to transfer $150 million into an offshore account. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and also starring Julianne Moore.

3 DAYS TO KILL

Action/drama/thriller; rated M; opening February 27

An international spy (Kevin Costner) who's desperate to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter (Hailee Steinfeld) has to juggle completing one last mission and looking after her for the first time in 10 years. Directed by McG and also starring Amber Heard.

OUT OF THE FURNACE

Crime/drama/thriller; rated MA15+; opening February 27

Christian Bale stars as Russell Baze, a steel mill worker who takes matters into his own hands when his brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) mysteriously disappears and the police fail to crack the case. Co-starring Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe and Zoe Saldana, it's from director and co-writer Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart).

THE WIND RISES

Animated/biography/drama; rated PG; opening February 27

From Hayao Miyazaki, the Academy Award winner director of Spirited Away, Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle is the story of Jiro, who hopes to one day fly and design airplanes. His eyesight means he cannot be a pilot, but at a Japanese engineering company his innovative genius is recognised and his dreams take flight.

GLORIA

Drama/comedy; rated MA15+; opening February 27

Set in Santiago, 58-year-old divorcee Gloria (Paulina Garcia) is determined not to let old age and loneliness consume her and flings herself into the world of singles' parties. Disappointment follows, until she meets Rodolfo, an ex-naval officer seven years older than her. But the relationship brings some unexpected challenges.
