WORLD FINANCE UPDATE:

The Australian dollar has moved little over the weekend as the US celebrated the Independence Day holiday.

At 0630 AEST on Monday, the local currency was trading at 93.66 US cents, up from 93.53 cents on Friday.

And the Australian share market looks set to open higher despite a muted showing on European markets and Wall Street being closed for Independence Day on Friday.

At 0645 AEST on Monday, the September share price index futures contract was up 13 points at 5,495.

ELSEWHERE:

AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France - The strength of the global economic recovery could be "less robust than expected" and more must be done to boost international monetary supply, IMF chief Christine Lagarde warns.

LONDON - London's century-old gold price fixing, tainted by a rigging scandal and attacked by critics as old-fashioned, goes under the spotlight this week in key talks aimed at modernising the process.

MADRID - Spanish free wifi provider Let's Gowex has revealed its accounts have been falsified for at least four years and it is filing for bankruptcy protection.
