WORLD FINANCE UPDATE:

The Australian dollar has bounced back from a slightly negative reaction to volatile local employment numbers.

At 0630 AEST on Friday, the currency was trading at 73.43 US cents, up from 73.30 cents on Thursday.

And the Australian share market looks set to open lower after falls on Wall Street where stocks were dragged down by media company results.

At 0645 AEST on Friday, the September share price index futures contract was down 38 points at 5,490.

ELSEWHERE:

LONDON - The Bank of England has left its key interest rate at a record low, as policy makers see no need to put the brakes on the UK economy amid slowing growth in Asia and risks from the Greek debt crisis.
