Fink not looking at Swiss national job

Former Basel coach Thorsten Fink says no-one has approached him about becoming Switzerland's coach after the world cup in Brazil.

Former Basel coach Thorsten Fink does not see himself as a candidate for the Swiss national team job next year when Ottmar Hitzfeld retires.

"No one has approached me and I haven't heard anything either. I am not thinking about it. I rather see myself as a club coach," Fink told Friday's edition of Germany's Bild paper.

Fink is without a job since having to go at German Bundesliga club SV Hamburg in September.

He coached Basel between 2009 and 2011, leading them to two national titles and into the Champions League.

Hitzfeld, who has been in charge since 2008, said recently he will step down and retire from coaching after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
