Finzsoft shares soar after profit forecast

Shares in financial software developer Finzsoft Solutions jump to a record $NZ2.54 after saying its earnings are forecast to rise fourfold.

Shares of Finzsoft Solutions have soared to a record a day after the financial software developer said it anticipated annual earnings would quadruple after it signed its biggest ever contract.

Finzsoft did not disclose the value of the deal with Australian customer St George, which already has contracts with the company.

Its stock has jumped 131 per cent to a record $NZ2.54 over the two days with just under 20,000 shares traded.

Finzsoft managing director Andrew Holliday said the St George work order to integrate the auto and equipment finance businesses of Capital Finance Australia would underpin "forecast earnings at four times last year's profit result" of $NZ755,000 ($A702,881)

Mr Holliday, who owns about 68 per cent of the company, said that forecast didn't include expected gains from the $NZ1.9 million acquisition of Sush Global Solutions, which develops mobile apps.

Before Wednesday's announcement, the stock traded at $NZ1.40, valuing the company at $NZ11.6 million, a level chairman Brent Impey said the board believed didn't reflect the "intrinsic value of the company".

At Thursday's share price, Finzsoft is valued at $NZ21.1 million.

The company has also embarked on a strategic review of its capital and ownership structure, hiring PwC to assist with the process, it said.

Mr Impey said the review would consider initiatives to improve the capital structure and share trading liquidity "to more appropriately reflect current and future opportunities, the company's investment in R&D over 25 years and the value of its IP (intellectual property)".

The review is expected to be completed before the end of 2014.
