Fiorentina forward Rossi targets cup final

Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi expects to recover from his long term knee injury in time for the Italian Cup final against Napoli.

Injured Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi is targeting a return to action in time for the Italian Cup final against Napoli.

Rossi believes he will be "at the Stadio Olimpico, on the pitch" for the showpiece event, which will take place on May 3 or 7, depending on Europa League commitments.

The American-born forward, who plays for Italy, is facing another lengthy layoff after damaging his right knee again at the beginning of the year.

Rossi is undergoing his rehabilitation in New York, where he is being treated by the same specialists who helped him recover from his previous two -more serious - injuries.

"I am surrounded by the same people, in the same institutions, with the same physiotherapist," the 26-year-old said.
