Around ten people were evacuated as emergency crews tried to extinguish a blaze which engulfed a unit in Sydney's south.
The top floor unit in Narwee was well alight when police arrived at the scene on Sunday night.
Ten people were evacuated from the unit building while the fire was extinguished.
No one was at home at the time but a cat was found dead inside the unit, police said.
It was not yet known what caused the fire.
