An emergency warning has been issued an alert at 3pm for a fire in Victoria's south-east in south Gippsland, two kilometres west of Beagley's Bridge.
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) said crews are attempting to stop the fire spreading ahead of windy conditions.
Residents in the area are being advised to leave if it is safe to do so.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast temperatures to reach the mid-30s, with winds getting up to 35km/h.
Meanwhile, the CFA has imposed a total fire ban for the districts of Wimmera and Mallee, which cover Victoria's west and northwest.
Bushfires at Mt Pleasant in the Adelaide Hills and Woolshed Flat, in SA's mid-north are no longer considered a threat.
Adelaide's temperature about 2.30pm was 35 degrees Celsius — above the forecast maximum of 34 degrees for the city.
