Firies in strife over 'best in bed' poll

An investigation has been launched into claims a group of Queensland fire fighters used social media to rate the sexual prowess of their female colleagues.

At least three Queensland fire fighters could face disciplinary action over claims they used social media to run a poll about the sexual prowess of their female colleagues.

The straw poll, conducted on Facebook, rated which female colleagues would be best in bed, The Courier-Mail reports.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) told AAP an investigation is underway but would not confirm details of the allegations.

"It is inappropriate for the QFES to comment while the investigation is ongoing," she told AAP.

The paper said the incident was linked to a fire station in the state's southeast.

It said none of the male officers accused of wrongdoing had been stood down but the female officers who were targeted have been transferred after they lodged sexual harassment complaints.

A spokesman for Fire Services Minister Jack Dempsey said the claims would be thoroughly investigated.

"No comment can be made as the investigation is ongoing. However all allegations will be taken seriously," he said.
