First look at Sin City 2 film

Fans of Sin City have been treated to a glimpse of the cult hit's sequel, Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For.

After nine years of anticipation, Sin City fans have finally been treated to a sneak peek of Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For.

A trailer for the stylised black-and-white sequel was released by US distributor The Weinstein Company on Friday.

It features Mickey Rourke, who plays the villain Marv, as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reprised their directorial roles for the cult film's sequel, which is out in US and Australian cinemas in August.

Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis are returning cast members, and are joined by newcomers Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta, Lady Gaga and Josh Brolin.

It is Gaga's second role in a Rodriguez film: she also appeared in his 2013 film Machete Kills.

The Sin City films are based on Miller's graphic novels.

The first film in 2005 was a critical and commercial success, winning the technical grand prize at the 2005 Cannes festival.
