FIS cancels Courchevel World Cup ski races

The women's World Cup ski races at the French resort of Courcheval have been called off along with men's races at Val d'Isre because of a lack of snow.

Alpine World Cup races scheduled for next week in Courcheval have been cancelled because to a lack of snow, the International Ski Federation (FIS) announced on Friday.

The women's giant slalom and slalom races scheduled for the French resort on December 13 and 14 have been cancelled, after the men's races at Val d'Isre were also called off.

The FIS said it was looking at other possible venues, such as Are, Sweden, for the races.
