Fisherman dies after being swept off rocks

A 63-year-old Chinese national has died after being swept into the ocean while fishing with his son-in-law south of Sydney.

A rock fisherman has died after being swept into the ocean south of Sydney.

The 63-year-old Chinese national had been fishing with his son-in-law at Wattamolla in the Royal National Park on Saturday afternoon when he slipped and fell into the water. He was not wearing a life jacket.

The man was pulled from the water but could not be revived.

A report is now being prepared for the coroner.
