Brad Fittler is considering coaching his first State of Origin from ground level and moving to the sideline at the MCG for Wednesday's series opener.
Fittler coached part of last year's World Cup with Lebanon from the sideline, particularly in venues where he believed he was seated too far from the game in the coach's box.
And given the drastically large size of the MCG, Fittler is considering a similar move on Wednesday night that would bring him closer to his players.
"I have (considered it)," Fittler said.
"Because I've thought about the distance of this place, this joint is huge.
"But I've also thought about weather as well because I sit on the sideline regularly. The comfort of the box might be a little easier to take. We'll see."
Fittler is no stranger to the sideline, watching the majority of his matches there as an expert commentator.
He was also known as a nervous watcher of games during his time with the Sydney Roosters, and was often spotted in the back of the coaches boxes.
Fittler will aim to become the fourth successive Blues coach to win their first Origin match this week, following in the footsteps of Laurie Daley, Craig Bellamy and Graham Murray.
None of those though have been able to put an end to Queensland's dominance, but Fittler is confident NSW has a reason to believe again this year.
"The team itself is very exciting, without a doubt, there are no guarantees, we will deal with what happens on Wednesday when it happens," he said.
"As of now I feel good and confident that the team has come together well and they will handle the pressure on the night simple as that."
