Fitzgerald to meet Qld deputy premier

Queensland Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney says corruption fighter Tony Fitzgerald has agreed to a meeting after a public spat.

Corruption fighter Tony Fitzgerald has agreed to meet Queensland Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney in the wake of repeated public attacks on the government and its policies.

The deputy premier says Mr Fitzgerald has taken up the offer of a private meeting to sort out their differences.

"We're going to have a meeting and have a cup of tea," Mr Seeney said.

"And I look forward to that.

"It is not going to be a circus, it is not a stunt, it is something that is personal to me and it will be a personal meeting."

It's 25 years this week since Mr Fitzgerald handed down the findings of his 1980s inquiry into police corruption.

In retirement Mr Fitzgerald has generally avoided media contact but has let loose in recent months over anti-bikie legislation and changes to the former Crime and Corruption Commission.

He has accused the Newman government of abusing its power through its huge, unchecked majority and labelled MPs "inexperienced, arrogant fools" and "megalomaniacs".
