Five days of mourning in India for Mandela

India has declared five days of national mourning in India for "Gandhian" Nelson Mandela.

India has declared five days of national mourning for South Africa's anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela.

The government says the Indian flag will be flown at half mast across the country for five days.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says the country regards Mandela as a person true to the spirit of Indian independence hero Mahatma Gandhi.

Mandela died today at his Johannesburg home after a long battle against lung infection.
