Five Vixens netballers recommit

The Melbourne Vixens have re-signed five players to new deals, including Australia under-21 netball stars Liz Watson and Jo Weston.

The Melbourne Vixens are close to wrapping up their recruitment drive for next year's trans-Tasman netball championship, with five players re-signing.

Tegan Philip, Liz Watson, Jo Weston, Chloe Watson and Emily Mannix on Thursday signed new contracts for at least the next two seasons, joining two-time Australian netballer of the year Madi Robinson who penned a new deal last week.

"The long term potential of our team and the progress we have all made as individuals means we can continue the work we started this year," said Vixens coach Simone McKinnis.

Watson and Weston are captain and vice-captain respectively of the Australian under-21 netball side.

The re-signings leave Melbourne with just two positions remaining on their player roster for next season.
