Flappy Bird creator to 'take game down'

The Vietnamese creator of Flappy Bird has told fans on Twitter that he will be taking down his game because it has 'ruined my simple life'.

The Vietnamese creator of electronic game sensation Flappy Bird has complained that he has become a victim of its phenomenal success.

Dong Nguyen said on Twitter that he will take the popular game down because all the attention has overwhelmed him.

"I am sorry Flappy Bird users, 22 hours from now, I will take Flappy Bird down," he wrote on his Twitter page on Sunday morning in Hanoi.

"It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep (at) it any more."

The Hanoi creator shot to fame after his game climbed to the top of the Google Play list earlier in February.

It is also the top free app in Apple's App Store.

"I can call Flappy Bird is a success of mine," Nguyen wrote. "But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it."

The aim of Flappy Bird is to guide a small bird through an endless series of gates by simply tapping the screen.
