Brisbane Heat recruit Andrew Flintoff says he can't wait to take on former England teammate Kevin Pietersen in this summer's Big Bash League.
The Heat welcome Pietersen's Melbourne Stars on December 28 at the Gabba.
Pietersen has a frosty relationship with Brisbane after labelling the town boring during England's Ashes campaign last summer.
Flintoff, who will join the Heat in December and play in the last half of the Big Bash, says he's looking forward to his new fans giving the South African-born batsman a warm welcome.
"I know he's not a big fan of Brisbane or the Gabba," Flintoff told Brisbane's Triple M radio.
"It'll be interesting to see if Kev's in that line-up. I think he'll get a cracking reception from the crowd - they'll love him."
Flintoff said he enjoyed playing with KP "at times" and said he'd managed to get off lightly in Pietersen's recent autobiography, which slammed England cricket's set-up and took aim at several of his former international teammates.
"I'm surprised it didn't come with a packet of crayons. I thought it'd be a colouring-in book from Kev," Flintoff said.
"I did alright out of it. He doesn't seem to have had a go at me, which I'm amazed by."
Flintoff says his main priority is doing well for the Heat as he continues a cricketing career, almost ended by surgery in 2009.
After being told by a doctor he might not run again, Flintoff said he was making the most of every opportunity to play.
"I can't guarantee performance but I can guarantee the effort," he said.
