Flood warning for north of Perth

Minor to moderate flooding is expected along the Moore River, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

Minor to moderate flooding is expected in the Moore River catchment north of Perth after heavy rains in the area in recent days.

The Bureau of Meteorology says more than 100mm of rain fell in the upper reaches of the catchment on Thursday and Friday.

Minor to moderate flooding began in upper tributaries on Sunday afternoon.

Flood levels are expected to rise along the Moore River from Sunday night, with floodwaters expected at the river's mouth at Guilderton in the next day or two.

No significant rain is forecast for the Moore River catchment before 9am on Monday.

Residents have been warned to prepare to relocate equipment and livestock and watch water levels and road conditions for the chance of flooding.
