Andy Flower has paid the price for England's Ashes capitulation by leaving his post as coach.
Flower was reportedly called into a meeting at Lord's in London on Thursday and told his time is up by Paul Downton, the new managing director of England cricket.
Downton, who officially starts in his own post on Saturday, has been conducting a review of England's disastrous tour to Australia where they relinquished the Ashes in a 5-0 thumping.
It is expected the official announcement will be made later on Friday.
The Zimbabwean has coached England since 2009, winning the Ashes three times while also steering England to their first World Twenty20 title in his first year.
