NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley wants Premier Mike Baird to come clean on whether he personally pressured a global investment firm to change its report on the government's electricity privatisation plan.

Mr Baird has already admitted that his office called UBS to complain about a note to investors which said the lease would be "bad for the budget".

UBS, who is also advising the government on its privatisation plan, eventually reissued a watered-down report.

Mr Foley says he wants to know if Mr Baird personally called the chief executive of UBS to express his dissatisfaction with the initial report.

"It's not good enough seven days from the election for Mr Baird just to put on his choir boy act and say `trust me'. There's a scandal here," Mr Foley told reporters on Saturday.

"A leading global company's advice has been rewritten following pressure from the Liberals.

"Why doesn't Mike Baird come clean with the people of NSW and answer: what was the role of himself, his treasurer and his staff in bringing pressure on UBS to change the advice they delivered their clients."

Labor, the Shooters and Fishers Party, and The Greens have indicated there will be an upper house inquiry into the matter when parliament resumes in May.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission have also said they will investigate, Mr Foley said.
