Fremantle will give their football department a major shake-up over the off-season with Chris Bond the latest key figure to announce his departure from the AFL club.
The former Dockers captain, who has served as football operations manager since 2008, will depart in November.
His exit means Fremantle now have two major holes to fill following the recent defection of list manager Brad Lloyd to Carlton.
Bond will continue to assist Fremantle in their planning for the 2018 draft and trade period before his departure.
Chief executive Steve Rosich says the club will now restructure their football department.
"We have a shortlist of potential candidates and we will now begin the process of identifying the preferred candidates for both roles," he said on Tuesday.
The upcoming trade and draft periods loom as critical in the Dockers' rebuild.
They lost nine games by 50 points or more this season, placing pressure on coach Ross Lyon.
Lyon still has two more years to go on his contract, while Rosich hasn't indicated any desire to leave.
Fremantle face a major fight to retain star midfielder Lachie Neale, who is being heavily courted by Brisbane.
Neale, who is contracted with Fremantle until the end of 2019, flew to Brisbane last weekend to meet with Lions coach Chris Fagan.
Fremantle have tabled a new offer but it remains to be seen whether he'll accept.
The Dockers are also sweating on the future of Victorian Adam Cerra, who starred in his debut season but is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Cerra, who is contracted for another season, is the only top-10 pick from last year's draft yet to re-sign.
