Force re-sign giant lock Richard Arnold

Re-signed Western Force lock Richard Arnold feels something special is building at the Super Rugby club and wants to be part of it.

The Western Force have re-signed lock Richard Arnold for the next two Super Rugby seasons.

Arnold, Wallaby Rory Arnold's twin, has notched seven games for the Force in his debut season.

The 208cm giant's signing comes just a day after Wallaby newcomer Richard Hardwick re-signed with the Force for 2018.

The club's future remains clouded, with either the Perth-based franchise or the Melbourne Rebels set to be axed before next season.

But the ARU have at least lifted the moratorium on Super Rugby player contracts, allowing the Force to re-sign key players before they are poached by rival clubs.

Force veteran Matt Hodgson has already announced he will retire at season's end.

"I'm really enjoying my time at the Force and feel like we're building something special here," Arnold said.

"There's a good understanding among the group of what we want to achieve and an excellent work ethic. We all want to play for each other."
