Wallabies flanker Matt Hodgson has signed to stay with Super Rugby's Western Force for another season.

Force skipper Hodgson has been sidelined all season with a torn hamstring, but he's on track to return for next week's clash with the Chiefs in New Zealand.

The 33-year-old's new deal also gives him the option of playing on in 2017.

The Force will be aiming to snap their seven-match losing run when they take on the Stormers in Perth on Saturday night.
