Foreign minister co-hosts Pacific summit

Five countries are on the itinerary of a diplomatic tour by Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop will co-host a forum on global humanitarian issues and how Pacific Island nations respond to crises in Auckland on Tuesday.

The meeting kicks off a week-long diplomatic tour by Ms Bishop which will take in Chile, Peru, Brazil and Canada.

It will be the first visit by an Australian foreign minister to Canada since 2006.
