The former boss of packaging giant Amcor, Ken MacKenzie, received more than $US16 million when he retired from the company.
Mr MacKenzie retired from Amcor in April 2015 after 10 years as chief executive.
Amcor chairman Graeme Liebelt said in Amcor's annual report released on Wednesday that Mr MacKenzie's leadership had been outstanding.
Amcor's annual report shows that Mr MacKenzie received a total remuneration of $US16.09 million in fiscal 2015, up from $US7.73 million in fiscal 2014.
Mr MacKenzie's pay was significantly boosted by more than $US6 million in accrued share-based incentive payments that were converted to cash upon his retirement.
"Mr MacKenzie made an extraordinary contribution to the company during his tenure, creating a global leader in the packaging industry which has considerable opportunity for further growth," Mr Liebelt said.
Amcor made a net profit of $US680.3 million for the year ended June 30, 2015, up 35.3 per cent on the prior year.
Amcor shares were steady at $12.95 at 1302 AEST.
