ROMAN QUAEDVLIEG'S UPDATED EVIDENCE

* New statement to a Senate committee after Peter Dutton challenged Roman Quaedvlieg's timeline in his first statement

* Quaedvlieg says he got a call from Dutton's chief of staff Craig Maclachlan asking for help with "the boss' mate"

* Call occurred sometime between October 2015 and December 2016

* Quaedvlieg agreed to investigate and called Australian Border Force officers in Brisbane

* A young au pair or nanny from a European country was detained at the airport

* ABF officers examined her electronic devices and found evidence she was going to work, breaching her visa conditions

* "Boss, this is solid. The comms and her intent are clear. It's a good stop."

* The officers told Quaedvlieg they planned to deport her; he told officers to proceed as usual

* Quaedvlieg called Maclachlan back and told him the details

* He says Maclachlan asked "What needs to be done to fix this? Can the boss overturn it?"

* Quaedvlieg told him to ask the departmental liaison officer for a briefing on a ministerial intervention

* Machlachlan is still Dutton's chief of staff and is not commenting on the evidence

* A spokeswoman for Dutton said "Mr Quaedvlieg has lost his credibility and his statement today has no more validity than his fabricated statement from last week. He should provide the detail of the case to which he refers."
