A former teacher at Knox Grammar School suspected of being a balaclava-wearing intruder who molested a student says he only heard of the incident a few months ago.

Fotis had previously failed to appear at a commission hearing in February and was arrested.

The hearing has previously heard Fotis was suspected by students of donning a balaclava and groping a boy while hiding under a bed in the boarding house.

Fotis today told the hearing he was asleep on the top floor of the boarding house, where he was a resident master.

The hearing continues.
