Former Manchester United star and French national, Eric Cantona, says he will make one of his homes available to migrants arriving in France.
Cantona told France Inter radio Tuesday that he is setting up a plan with authorities in Marseille to lend a 50 square metre house, along with a large garden, to people fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East and Africa.
Cantona, who said he is committing himself over at least a two-year period, will also provide food for those staying in the house.
Cantona said "my maternal grandparents went through this because they were Spanish Republicans who fled Franco's regime."
