A former ALP national president is fearful economic reform would go backwards if Labor wins government on July 2.

Warren Mundine criticised the opposition's "anti-business rhetoric" during the campaign, as he reflected on the birth of his great-grand-daughter last week.

"Labor's rhetoric will take Australia down a path where her taxes will be higher and her education will be more costly," he writes in the Daily Telegraph on Friday.
