A number of Robbie Farah's current and ex-teammates have criticised the Wests Tigers for giving permission to the unwanted captain to walk out the door.
Despite having two years remaining on his current contract, the 31-year-old NSW hooker was told on Tuesday he was free to look elsewhere in 2016.
Farah revealed on Wednesday he was also informed he would be playing reserve grade should he decide to stay on board next season.
Former teammate Bryce Gibbs lashed out at Tigers coach Jason Taylor on social media.
"If robbie farah is getting dropped to reserve grade next yr, surely jason taylor is getting dropped to balmain u13s development squad," Gibbs wrote.
Current Wests Tiger Tim Moltzen also took aim at the club before he exits Concord for Manly at the end of the season.
"Ive witnessed the blood,sweat & tears from @robbiefarah whilst wearing the jersey.Never has let down the emblem. Pity it doesnt go both ways," he wrote on Twitter.
Ex-Tiger Blake Austin, who was recently rated the best five-eighth in the competition by his peers in Rugby League Week magazine, was another who threw mud at the current administration.
"Play reserve grade if he stays. Is that the utmost respect in the process???" he said.
Farah is set to join a string of former talents to leave Concord in recent years - Benji Marshall, Marika Koroibete, Andrew Fifita and Adam Blair - all of whom are set to play finals football this year.
