Former Western Australian fast bowler Michael Hogan will captain UK country cricket side Glamorgan in first-class cricket next season.

The 36-year-old quick replaces the retired Jacques Rudolph, with South African batsman Colin Ingram captaining the Welsh side in limited-overs cricket.

Glamorgan chief executive Hugh Morris said: "We are very fortunate to have two excellent leaders within the squad and the decision to appoint Michael and Colin was unanimous by our committee.

"By splitting the captaincy during a busy season both players can bring fresh impetus across the different formats.

"Both Michael and Colin are terrific role models, who have already done a great deal in helping us develop the exciting young Welsh talent we have at Glamorgan and they will continue to do so in leading the team."

Hogan made his first class debut for WA against Victoria in the Sheffield Shield in 2009, after moving West from New South Wales.
