Four charged with murder of Qld man McCabe

Three men and a woman are accused of murdering a young north Queensland man who was last seen alive by his family five weeks ago.

Four people have now been charged with murdering Queensland man Michael McCabe, more than a month after he went missing.

The body of the 25-year-old, who was last seen by family in Charters Towers on August 15, was found by police at Crystal Creek, north of Townsville, last Thursday.

He had told his uncle to be "very worried" if he failed to make contact within a week, The Sunday Mail reports.

It says police will allege he was bashed in the head at a Townsville unit before being taken to Crystal Creek in the boot of a car and pushed down an embankment.

Three people, a 29-year-old Townsville man, a 21-year-old Townsville woman and a 41-year-old Brisbane man, were charged with Mr McCabe's murder on Friday night and remanded in custody.

A fourth person, a 31-year-old Townsville man, was also charged with murder on Saturday night and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday.
