She's ticked the latest box, now Jess Fox is ready for the main event.

Having just won her third successive Under 23 world canoe slalom title, Fox lands in Rio on Monday as one of Australia's best chances of winning Olympic gold.

With most of her major Rio rivals older than 23 and ineligible to compete, the London silver medallist used the world titles in Poland as an Olympic-like tune-up under intense championship racing conditions.

And while no event can replicate what she'll encounter in Rio, Fox says last Sunday's win was the closest thing she could get to an Olympic scenario before the Games.

"It's good to have that confidence boost and to feel confident about my build up," Fox told AAP from her training base in Germany.

"It was about dealing with the expectations and the pressure that I should win.

"And it was good to practice the process, with heats, semis and final.

"It was great to win it, but you tick that box and move on because it's not the main goal. It was one of the goals on the way to the main event.

"The next day I was back on the water training, looking to keep making small improvements."

Fox says racing at a world championship event only weeks before the Olympics was far more beneficial than training alone and gave her the opportunity to fine-tune technically and mentally.

She got through six days of competition on the Krakow course without hitting a gate while maintaining her speed, which she says is the ideal buildup for Rio.

"It was about being clean and solid, each of my runs was clean so I had no penalties. That was one of the goals, to paddle well and safely and still have that speed," she said.

After checking into the athletes village on Monday, Fox will head straight to the Deodoro X-Park whitewater stadium to finalise her preparations before her round of heats on August 8.

"It'll be my third time there, I feel like I know the course well," she said.

"It should come back pretty quickly once you get on, you do a couple of runs and remember all the features, the way to do specific moves."
