New Zealander Ryan Fox will be aiming to claim his first tournament win as a professional when he tees off in the final round of the Queensland PGA Championship with a one-shot lead.
Fox shot to the top of the leaderboard at the City Golf Club in Toowoomba on Saturday when he carded a third-round six-under-par 64 to move to 18-under overall.
He started five shots behind overnight leader Antony Summers, who is just behind Fox after signing for a disappointing even-par 70 to go with his 61 and 62 over the first two rounds.
Fox's round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 10th thanks to a lucky drop.
"On the 10th I hit a terrible drive," said Fox, whose tee shot came to rest in a garden bed, an immovable obstruction, resulting in a free drop.
"I hacked it over the trees just off the fairway. I then holed a 9-iron from about 135 metres so it was a bit lucky really.
"I was scrambling to make par after the tee shot, to walk off with an eagle sort of kickstarted the round for me."
Fox will on Sunday be attempting to notch his maiden professional title win, as will NSW's Summers, who who made his first bogey of the tournament on the par-4 3rd on Saturday.
West Australian Stephen Dartnall posted a solid five-under 65 to be outright third on 16-under.
A further shot back is defending champion Brad Kennedy (67) while Victorian Ryan Lynch (65) rounds out the top-five at 13-under.
