Olympic canoe silver medallist Jessica Fox has won her first event of the 2014 ICF World Cup series with victory in the C1W final in the regatta at Tacen in Slovenia.

The Australian team bagged a second gold medal as West Australian Olympian Robin Jeffery, Penrith paddler Ian Borrows and Christian Fabris of Melbourne combined to win the C1M teams final, despite six seconds in time penalties for a gate touch.

Fox made history last year on the same course becoming the first female paddler to win gold in the C1W and K1W events at the one World Cup.

The 20 year old from Sydney is on track to repeat that achievement with the K1W event still to come on Sunday.

Fox headed into the final having earlier recorded the second fastest semi-final time behind fellow Australian Rosalyn Lawrence.

But when it mattered most Fox simply dominated the technical 24 gate course, executing a clean run of 120.69 to finish more than 15 seconds ahead of Czech paddler Katerina Hoskova with Qianqian Teng of China collecting the bronze.

A mistake on the first gate proved costly for Lawrence who had to settle for fifth, 26.51 seconds behind Fox.
