France-Belgium Davis Cup final in Lille

France have chosen Lille as the host city for November's Davis Cup final against Belgium and have opted to play the decider on a hardcourt.

France are going back to Lille for November's Davis Cup final against Belgium.

France played over the weekend at Lille's Stade Pierre Mauroy, beating Serbia 3-1 to reach the final.

While that semi-final was on clay, the French will lay a hardcourt for the final from November 24-26.

Stade Pierre Mauroy set a semi-final attendance record for a day and a tie. More than 18,000 spectators attended on Sunday, and almost 48,000 over the three days.

The venue seats 27,500 and the roof will be closed for the final.

France, having lost to Switzerland in the 2014 decider at the stadium, are seeking their first Davis Cup title since 2001.

Belgium, in the final for the second time in three years, are yet to win the title.
